Most people who are new to 2manydjs assume this entire series to be official albums. I can’t blame them, considering the fact that the only official album has “Part 2″ in the title.

Part 1 and 3 make up both halfs of the mix they did for the BBC (aired on Christmas Day 2001), which itself is really a compilation of fragments from the Hang The DJ radio shows.

Part 4 to 11 or so are fragments of Hang The DJ radio shows recompiled by bootleggers – the mixing between these fragments is often rather crude.

At the time of writing, there are 14 parts. The bootleggers seem to have moved on to relabeling the newer Radio Soulwax mixes (D&SCO, Under The Covers, …). There seems to be no number 13 – these bootleggers must be quite the superstituous bunch!

Parts 1, 3, 4 and 5 were released under the “Waxedsoul Recordings” label, while 6 and onwards were released under the “Waxedhead Recordings” label. The bootlegs always seem to come in pairs, one CD with a white label, and another plain CDr labeled “For promotional use only”.
